The salon-style of hanging artwork originated in the 1700s when art students were given an opportunity to hang their work in a public venue. The space was limited so works were hung close together, floor to ceiling and in a non-linear fashion to allow for everyone to get their art piece on the wall. This style quickly became a 'thing', remains very popular and continues to be used to display unique collections. You know, for those of us who can't choose just one artwork to hang on a wall! We obviously love this style and feel it suits our “collection” perfectly.
Join us during the Summer Art Walk and throughout the month of June as we display, in salon-style, some of our favorite local artists with one-of-a-kind vintage artworks, collected and curated specifically for this event. Many of vintage pieces, photographs, prints, posters and object d’art, will be on sale and very affordable. Our goal is to assemble an appealing, non-chaotic, wall for you, it’s harder than it sounds! But we’re up for the challenge! Oh, and we’ll have more than we can fit on our wall, we’re collectors after all! Come browse our selection and take advantage of our special pricing to add to or start your salon-style wall!
